Actions

Clears Heat and Toxins
For heat and fire in the Lungs and throat manifesting as asthma or abscesses. Also for urinary tract infections and toxic skin disorders.
Dries Dampness
For acute infections of the gastrointestinal tract or diarrhea.
Used as an ointment to treat eczema from Damp-Heat.

Contraindications and Cautions

Long term use may injure the Stomach Qi.

Dosage

9-15 grams. 1-1.5 grams as a powder. (If taken in powdered form, it is recommended to use capsules due to the extreme bitter nature of this herb).
