Acupuncture Points on the Du Mai (Governing Vessel)

Actions:

  • Eliminates wind and treats convulsions
  • Benefits the head

Indications:

  • Epilepsy, dizziness, blurring of vision, vertical headache, rhinorrhea.

Pont Location:

  • A Manual of Acupuncture: At the top of the head on the midline, 1.5 cun directly anterior to Baihui DU-20 and 3.5 cun posterior to the anterior hairline.
  • Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion: 3.5 cun directly above the midpoint of the anterior hairline and 1.5 cun anterior to Baihui (DU-20).

Needling Method:

  • Puncture subcutaneously 0.3-0.5 inch. Moxibustion is applicable.
