Acupuncture Points on the Large Intestine Channel of Hand Yang Ming

  • Acupuncture Point Five Elements  Jing-Well & Metal Point

Actions:

  • Clears heat, reduces swelling and alleviates pain
  • Revives consciousness

Indications:

  • Toothache, sore throat, swelling of the submandibular region, numbness of fingers, febrile diseases with anhidrosis, loss of consciousness.

Pont Location:

  • A Manual of Acupuncture: On the dorsal aspect of the index finger, at the junction of lines drawn along the radial border of the nail and the base of the nail, approximately 0.1 cun from the corner of the nail.
  • Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion: On the radial side of the index finger, about 0.1 cun posterior to the corner of the nail.

Needling Method:

  • Puncture 0.1 inch, or prick the point to cause bleeding.
