ST-07 (Xia Guan) Below the Joint

Acupuncture Points on the Stomach Channel of Foot Yang Ming

  • Meeting Point of the Stomach and Gallbladder Channels

Actions:

  • Benefits the ears, jaw and teeth
  • Activates the channel and alleviates pain

Indications:

  • Deafness, tinnitus, otorrhea, toothache, facial paralysis, pain of the face, motor impairment of the jaw.

Pont Location:

  • A Manual of Acupuncture: At the lower border of the zygomatic arch, in the depression anterior to the condyloid process of the mandible.
  • Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion: On the face, anterior to the ear, in the depression between the zygomatic arch and the mandibular notch. This point is located with the mouth closed.

Needling Method:

  • Puncture perpendicularly 0.3-0.5 inch. Moxibustion is applicable.
